Being a mother of 4 children myself, I have such admiration and respect for all who have been chosen to walk this path of motherhood. It's amazingly rewarding, but it's not easy.

I am the first to admit that I haven't always found my role as a mother the most natural thing to do. I have had second thoughts about whether I was cut out for this path many a time. 

My desire to capture family photos for people stemmed from this feeling of wanting to give something to other women in the same boat as myself - those mothers who felt they weren't cut out for this job, who questioned themselves as to what made these beautiful souls love them so unconditionally.. who worried about whether they were stuffing it all up and if they were ever going to feel like they had it all under control.

What I found through a great deal of soul searching of my own, and through capturing and sharing the stories of others, is that those mothers just like me tended to be the ones also hiding from the camera - giving the standard "just get photos of the kids, not me".

Those same women who were adored by their children, and cherished by their loved ones, didn't want to be in photos themselves - because they didn't feel up to standard or like they had it all together yet - they simply didn't feel worthy enough.

It is my mission to change that. To encourage women to embrace themselves as much as their role as mothers - our children, and our loved ones love us for who we are, now - in this moment - extra lumps and bumps and laugh lines and all - embrace who you are to them, capture that connection, and exist in photos for yourself and your family xx
